Pitlane Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using Pitlane, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

These Terms apply to all users of the Pitlane mobile application and related services.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not access or use the service.

By using Pitlane, you confirm that:

• You are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement.
• You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
• You agree to Pitlane’s Privacy Policy.
• You are 13 years of age or older.
• You agree that Pitlane is not associated with, endorsed by, or affiliated with Formula One Management, Formula One teams, FIA or related motorsport organizations.

Pitlane reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the service after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Service Description

Pitlane is a social platform designed for Formula One fans to discover, review, and discuss races.

The service allows users to:

• Browse historical and modern Formula One race data
• Rate races using a star rating system
• Write detailed race reviews
• Tag races with descriptors such as “Exciting Finish” or “Strategy Masterclass”
• Follow other fans and interact with their reviews
• Comment on and like reviews
• Maintain watchlists and favourite races, drivers, or teams
• Customize their profile and app experience
• Participate in a social feed of F1-related content

Pitlane may introduce new features, remove existing features, or modify functionality at its discretion.

Pitlane is provided as a mobile application service, and access may require compatible devices, internet connectivity, and app store accounts.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features, users must create an account.

Account Registration

When creating an account, users may be required to provide:

• Email address
• Username
• Optional profile details such as name or biography

Users are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the information they provide.

Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Ensuring that your account information remains up to date

You must not:

• Create accounts for the purpose of harassment or abuse
• Impersonate other individuals or organizations
• Create automated or bot accounts without permission

Account Security

If you believe your account has been compromised, you must notify Pitlane immediately.

4. Pro Accounts (Subscription Features)

Pitlane offers an optional Pro subscription that unlocks additional features within the app.

Subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and managed via RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management platform.

Pro Features

Users with an active Pro subscription may receive access to features including:

• Unlimited review characters when writing race reviews
• Personalized review backgrounds and colors
• Customizable application themes
• Expanded analytics and statistics within the Stats page
• An exclusive “PRO” role within the official Pitlane Discord server
• Early access to upcoming Pitlane features

These features are provided to enhance the user experience and may change over time.

Feature Changes

Pitlane reserves the right to:

• Add new Pro features
• Modify existing Pro features
• Remove or restructure Pro features

Subscription benefits are provided at Pitlane’s discretion, and the feature set may evolve as the platform grows.

Subscription Billing

Subscriptions are billed through the applicable app store according to their terms and billing policies.

Pitlane does not directly process or store payment card information.

Content Restrictions for Custom Backgrounds

Users utilizing custom review backgrounds or styling must comply with the Prohibited Conduct section of these Terms.

Custom backgrounds must not include:

• Offensive imagery
• Racist or discriminatory content
• Harassment or abusive messages
• Explicit or inappropriate material

Violations may result in removal of the content and suspension of Pro features or accounts.

5. User-Generated Content

Pitlane allows users to submit content including:

• Race reviews
• Ratings
• Comments
• Profile information
• Social posts
• Custom tags and lists

By submitting content to Pitlane, you confirm that:

• You own or have permission to share the content
• The content does not violate any laws or rights
• The content complies with these Terms

Content License

By posting content on Pitlane, you grant Pitlane a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute your content within the platform for the purpose of operating and improving the service.

Users retain ownership of the content they create.

Authentic Reviews

Reviews should reflect genuine opinions about Formula One races.

Users must not:

• Post misleading or fake reviews
• Manipulate ratings through coordinated behaviour
• Spam repetitive or irrelevant content

Community Content Disclaimer

Pitlane is a platform that allows users to share opinions, reviews, and commentary about Formula One races and related motorsport topics.

Ratings, reviews, comments, and other user-generated content represent the views of the individual users who submit them and do not represent the views, opinions, or endorsements of Pitlane.

Pitlane does not verify the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of user-generated content and is not responsible for statements, opinions, or claims made by users within reviews, comments, or other submissions.

Users are solely responsible for the content they publish on the platform.

Content Removal and License Survival

Users may delete content they have submitted to Pitlane, including reviews, comments, or profile information, through the tools provided within the application.

When content is deleted, Pitlane will remove or anonymize the content from public display within a reasonable timeframe. However, deleted content may remain temporarily in system backups, cached data, or technical logs as part of normal platform operations.

In cases where other users have interacted with or referenced the content (for example through replies, notifications, or engagement history), limited references to the content may remain visible even after the original content is deleted.

The license granted to Pitlane to host, display, and process user-generated content will remain in effect solely for the period reasonably necessary to operate the service and complete technical removal processes.

6. Prohibited Conduct

Users must not engage in behaviour that disrupts or harms the Pitlane community.

Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:

Harassment and Abuse

• Harassing, threatening, or bullying other users
• Posting hateful or discriminatory content
• Encouraging violence or abuse

Inappropriate Content

• Pornographic or sexually explicit content
• NSFW profile pictures
• Offensive or disturbing imagery

Spam and Manipulation

• Posting spam or promotional content
• Manipulating review ratings or engagement
• Using automated tools to interact with the platform

Impersonation

• Pretending to be another user, public figure, team, active or inactive Formula One driver or organization

Illegal Activities

• Violating laws or regulations
• Posting content that infringes intellectual property rights

Platform Abuse

• Attempting to exploit or disrupt the platform
• Circumventing security measures
• Uploading malicious files or scripts

Violation of these rules may result in warnings, content removal, suspension, or permanent bans.

7. Content Moderation

Pitlane maintains the right to moderate content to ensure a safe and respectful community.

Moderation actions may include:

• Removing reviews or comments
• Removing profile images or backgrounds
• Restricting user features
• Suspending or banning accounts

Pitlane may take these actions with or without prior notice if content violates these Terms or community guidelines.

Users may also report inappropriate content using in-app reporting tools. These features are accessible via the options menu on all reviews and on user profile pages. The Pitlane moderation team will review all reports and take appropriate action based on the nature of the violation.

8. Intellectual Property

All software, design elements, and branding associated with Pitlane are the intellectual property of Pitlane unless otherwise stated.

Users may not:

• Copy, modify, or redistribute Pitlane’s software
• Reverse engineer the application
• Use Pitlane branding without permission

8.1 Formula One Disclaimer

Pitlane is an independent fan platform.

Pitlane is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with:

• Formula One Management
• Formula One teams
• FIA or related motorsport organizations

All trademarks, team names, and racing references belong to their respective owners.

Pitlane uses race data and historical information for informational and community discussion purposes. Race data is gathered from jolpica api.

9. Privacy

Pitlane collects and processes user data in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains:

• What data is collected
• How it is used
• How it is protected
• User rights regarding their data

By using Pitlane, you agree to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers and Service Availability

Pitlane is provided “as is” and “as available.”

While we strive to provide a reliable service, we cannot guarantee that the platform will always be:

• uninterrupted
• error-free
• secure at all times

Pitlane is not responsible for:

• data loss
• service outages
• third-party service failures
• inaccuracies in external race data sources

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pitlane disclaims liability for damages resulting from the use or inability to use the service.

10.1 App Store Platform Disclaimer

If you access or download the Pitlane application through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, you acknowledge that Apple Inc. and Google LLC, along with their respective affiliates, are not responsible for the operation, maintenance, or support of the Pitlane service.

Pitlane is solely responsible for the application and the services provided through it. Any questions, complaints, claims, or support requests related to Pitlane must be directed to Pitlane and not to Apple, Google, or their affiliates.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Apple Inc. and Google LLC are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce relevant provisions of these Terms against users where applicable.

11. Termination and Account Suspension

Pitlane may suspend or terminate user accounts if:

• These Terms are violated
• Harmful or abusive behaviour occurs
• The platform is misused
• Required by law or regulatory obligations

Termination may result in:

• Removal of user content
• Loss of access to Pro features, with no refund of any subscription fees paid
• Permanent loss of account access

Users may also delete their account at any time through the application settings.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the use of Pitlane shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Changes to These Terms

Pitlane may update these Terms periodically.

If significant changes occur:

• Users may be notified within the application or via email
• The effective date of the Terms will be updated

Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
